  6. System Priority: Lower system priority values indicate higher priority. If two switches have the same priority, the switch with the smaller MAC address determines the LAG configuration .

Configuring Multiple LAG Groups

  • To create multiple LAGs on the same switch, assign a different Admin Key for each group. For example, LAG 1 uses Admin Key 1, and LAG 2 uses Admin Key 2 .
  • Ensure each LAG connects to the correct device or appliance to avoid conflicts.

Best Practices

  • Avoid broadcast storms: Do not connect multiple cables between switches without LAG configured.
  • Cable paths: When connecting switches in different locations, run cables over separate physical paths to reduce the risk of simultaneous failure .
  • Static vs LACP: Some TP-Link models (like TL-SG108E) only support static LAG. In such cases, ensure both ends of the link are configured identically .
  • Troubleshooting: If internet or network access fails after enabling LAG, verify that the ports are correctly assigned to the LAG and that the Admin Key matches on both ends .
